The LFW Edit: Street Style

by Brora

Ahead of the launch into a week of great British design and style, we're probably just as excited to see what the fashion elite and catwalk veterans will be wearing to the shows, as we are watching Stella Tennant and Edie Campbell strut down the runway.

athleisure style - sportswear

Fast becoming a vital part of fashion week storytelling through the lense, taking people-watching to a whole new fashionable level, street style, the trend, has also quickly exploded into our everyday wardrobes, spurred on by top brands as Comme des Garcons, Vetements and Stella McCartney, even, which is often distinctively sporty.

New York fashion

Simply explained, street style is taking inspiration directly from the everyday fashions of those you pass in the streets. So depending on which road you frequent; Kings Road or Carnaby Street, they are brilliantly eclectic. This is the great thing about street style, it's completely subjective; one woman's Celine bag is another woman's Adidas trainers, which means style is showcased in its fullest to wonderfully varying lengths.

London fashion week

Inspired by the contemporary tellings of fashion's muses and FROW leaders, as they pound the streets, eagerly moving from show to show, exiting luxury, chauffeur-driven cars, we've selected some of our most desireable pieces from the new autumn collection for the stylish urbanite.

Brora, although heralding a striking country aesthetic, is not just for the rural dweller. After all, the masses should see you in your beautiful new herringbone wool coat, should they not? Just not necessarily in the middle of a field.

If you’re only going to buy one winter coat this season, make sure it’s this impeccable herringbone wool coat! Beautifully tailored with a masculine, loose-fitting shape that complements the desired layered look of the season ahead, our superior coat is fashionably inspired by the Irish Donegal technique of weaving, which sees colour fantastically peppered throughout the fabric. This stunning coat will therefore, easily be your new go-with-everything coat.

Your new perennial favourite, this fabulous winter coat perfectly displays all the charm of a beautiful wollen, that's often woven in far-off, rural places in the British Isles, combined with the contemporary design that a city gal also loves.

For a number of years now the mini has been shrouded in fashion controversy, left behind in the wake of the midi skirt and summer maxi skirt. Dismissed as a style for 'younger, freer' women, the mini skirt is often mis-represented. However, we've revived the mini into something trendy and winter-ready, presenting a modest mini for women of all ages. Capturing the country in its wildly woolly texture, the A-lineshape is inrefutably current. Working with the earthy, forest-like notions, a mossy mohair jumper - coming soon - adds to the texture, aided by our berry bucket bag in suede.

Providing the finishing touch to this road-worthing look, our suede patchwork boots are a show-stopping accessory to this colour-coordinated, textured look. The three standout colours contrast, yet equally complement one another, easily fitting with your existing wardrobe, whether you choose to match the colours or style them as a statement all on their own. The sturdy block heel is practical and comfortable; suited to every day street-pounding to the shops, work or picking up the children.
