Dani's 'A Brora For Life' Story
Fair Isle fancies from The Mop Philosopher
Out of all of the Brora I have collected over the years, my fair isle accessories hold particular pride of place in my wardrobe. My hats and gloves have become a bit of a signature look, brought out year after year for our lengthy autumn and winter seasons.
As soon as the leaves turn colour and I begin to plan our Thanksgiving meal I bring out this fair isle hat and their matching gloves. I adore these gorgeous autumn shades: honey brown, brick, aubergine and a bright turquoise blue, the colour of an autumn sky.
I pair them with a Brora stole in dark plum, with a tweed Brora coat most fondly worn every year for cold forest walks, and with a Brora fair isle cardigan in turquoise tones. As I put together outfits, pulling colours and patterns together, I am always so pleased to see my Brora items bought over years of seasons co-ordinating and complimenting one another. Brora truly makes building a wardrobe for life an easy task.
Last autumn I ran into a neighbourhood friend while out walking my dog and he remarked very happily that it always gave him a feeling of the holidays approaching when he saw me out with my Fair Isle hat and gloves. I was so struck that he noticed that I wear these pieces year after year, and, as with all Brora treasures, the reaction is one of delight; of welcoming an item of craftsmanship and usefulness.
To be able to stay warm and present a look of stylish distinction makes dressing for the cold weather a joy rather than something to be dreaded! Thank you Brora for producing my beautiful Fair Isle treasures, everyday items designed for life-long wear.
As a Brora "fan for life" I am so looking forward to reading the stories behind the cashmere pieces beloved the world over. By sharing a picture and a story, every Brora fan will be entered into a fun competition to win a monthly £200 ($250 USD) gift card or a runner-up treat. It's so easy to enter!
