Brora launches in John Lewis

by Victoria Stapleton

Image of Brora concession in John LewisHaving recently launched concessions in three John Lewis stores (Southampton, Cambridge and Glasgow), Founder and Creative Director of Brora, Victoria Stapleton discusses what the move means to her.

As a little girl, I was always taken by my mother, at the end of the summer holidays, to John Lewis to buy my Start-rite buckle up navy blue shoes. The ladies were kind; they measured my feet with a special machine, me willing them to grow as that meant I was becoming more grown up.

I astonished myself by one day, 20 years later, becoming a shopkeeper, looking after my customers, making sure everyone left the shop with the warm feeling a good retail experience should bring.

And then this week, another 25 years later, I felt even more grown up as Brora launched a shop within the establishment that is John Lewis. As I visited our new concessions, I felt hugely proud that here we were, bringing so many British made clothes to a whole new audience; Brora would be discovered by new faces and figures, go to new homes and families.

Due to the jewel like colours that are our signature we seemed to stand out like a beautiful beacon of light and dark, texture and print amongst a sea of dark shades.

Thank you John Lewis for inviting us to become part of your family; this is the beginning of the next big adventure for Brora.
